When my grandfather, Frank Vignieri, borrowed $35 from my grandmother’s cookie jar to start a meat packing company in 1936, he couldn’t have imagined what that investment would turn into. The company, known as Kenosha Beef, quickly grew its Midwest customer base thanks to a reputation built on customer satisfaction, high quality standards, innovative ideas, and exceptional tasting food.

For more than seven decades, Birchwood Foods has been a leader in providing quality beef for the foodservice and retail industries. My father, Charles Vignieri (pictured), continued to successfully grow the company while never losing sight of the traditions and family values it was founded on. 

Today, we manufacture a broad line of fresh and frozen, raw and fully cooked beef, pork and poultry products for the foodservice and retail segments both under the Birchwood Brand and our customer’s proprietary specifications and private label. We employ more than 900 people in plants located in 3 states that service customers nationwide.

At Birchwood Foods, our goal has never been to be the nation’s biggest ground beef supplier.  Our focus has always been on being the best.  And we are.
